Home / The Edit News & Events Celebrating the future of lighting design with Plusminus in Frankfurt In the context of Light + Building, Vibia presented a Plusminus installation together with Diez Office and Midgard at Badias Schrin Café, a must see for anyone visiting the old town of Frankfurt. With a delicate yet groundbreaking lighting composition defying gravity overhead, we had the chance to celebrate design and to share knowledge, inspiration and memories with family, friends and colleagues.A one-off mix of glass spheres and lineal, semi-sphered, and cone-shaped shades in matte black crossed the main dining room, tracing flowing shapes and silhouettes in its wake. Sleek, geometric and streamlined, this lighting system took center stage in the space, while flawlessly blending with the interior. Originally born to power a lamp and strip away conventional cabling, Diez Office’s Plusminus is a revolutionary concept in lighting design for its versatility and material innovation. Based on a conductive textile belt, its simple click and connect system allows designers for myriad possibilities and full freedom on the spot. This way, Plusminus breaks down the traditional distinction between decorative and architectural lighting and offers a singular lighting effect with its different shapes. “Thanks to its wide range, Plusminus enables you to find solutions to an incredible number of lighting problems”– Stefan DiezOpen for onlookers for a year, the showcase took place in the framework of this year’s long-awaited edition of Light + Building. During four days, the world’s leading trade fair in the fields of lighting and construction introduced what’s new, primarily focusing on smart and connected solutions, pioneering technologies, and the latest trends in design.
