Vibia Presents: Iconic Hanging Lights

Few pieces add as much character to a space as the hanging light. A typology that Vibia reimagines across a range of collections—many of which have become portfolio icons—while staying true to its commitment of creating environments where lighting ergonomics take centre stage. Each series boasts a signature style and distinctive identity, where lighting expertise shapes tailored atmospheres, enhances wellbeing, and elevates interiors with timeless elegance. Discover a selection of hanging lamps and lighting systems that sculpt light into compositional symphonies, lending a unique character to each space.

Vibia The Edit - Seasonal Lighting

One of the most representative collections in this creative universe is Flamingo, designed by Antoni Arola. An icon of the Vibia catalogue, it approaches lighting as an exercise in deconstruction: separating the light source from the shade. The pieces combine translucent diffusers with independent LED terminals that allow light to be projected either directly or diffusely, reflected gently across the shades.

The various configurations in the collection evoke the elegant movement of the birds that inspire them, as if the luminaires were floating lightly towards the ceiling. The adjustable warm colour temperature further enhances this atmospheric quality, recalling sunsets silhouetted by flamingos.

The central structure and LED terminals are available in a range of metallic finishes: from an understated graphite or an essential pure white, to the more sophisticated gold and copper.

As a natural evolution of the same collection, Antoni Arola created Flamingo Mini: a version designed for smaller spaces or as a complement to the original piece. It maintains the same lighting concept and formal elegance, but on a reduced scale, and is available exclusively in a graphite finish.

On another note, Knit, the pendant lamp designed by German designer Meike Harde, exudes a warm and enveloping presence. Conceived with a translucent stretch fabric sleeve, knitted in ribbed lycra, it delicately wraps around a polymer diffuser.

Light filters through the varying density of the ribbed fabric, creating subtle degrees of translucency and a 360-degree glow that adds intimacy to the atmosphere. The texture and materiality of the piece invite touch, while the textile covering embraces the light source with restraint and refinement.

Created by British architect and designer Umut Yamac, the Array suspension collection explores the boundaries between light and architecture. These textile light sculptures feature a double layer of threads, tensioned vertically between two metal rings.

The lower ring, finished in brass, houses a circular LED light source that bathes the threads in a luminous veil, creating the illusion of a form that is both solid and translucent. The dual-layer textile construction also produces a moiré effect that lends the piece a subtle sense of movement.

Available in conical and cylindrical formats in various heights and diameters, Array offers countless compositional possibilities. The threads come in three colourways: a neutral, elegant beige; a muted green; or a warm terracotta tone.

A blend of tradition and modernity, the Dama pendant light, designed by Studio Palomba Serafini, embodies pure sophistication. It reinterprets the essence of the classic hanging shade through a suspended strip of parchment that appears to float in space, held delicately by a near-invisible micro cable.

The result is an ethereal light, diffused with refined subtlety. The metal structure supporting the shade reveals the piece’s technical precision, enhanced by the understated elegance of its two finishes: black or beige.

Plusminus comes as one of Vibia’s most innovative collections, designed by German studio Diez Office. Its ingenuity lies in its exceptional versatility, reimagining the traditional lighting rail with added flexibility and an intuitive click & connect installation method. It enables the creation of truly compositional symphonies by positioning various light sources along an electrified textile belt that crosses the space.

The luminaires attach via buckles and electrical connectors, and are arranged by tensioning the belt and using counterweights. In this way, light is distributed freely across the environment, allowing for fully customised configurations. The system features a broad and varied range of components, and as easy as a child’s game, the fixtures are installed with a simple click.

The collection comes in Vibia’s Chromatica palette featuring a choice of muted tones of terracotta, green, blue, beige and black.

The Skan suspension light was created by the renowned Barcelona-based studio Lievore Altherr Molina. With its pure lines and basic geometry, it represents a return to essential forms, resulting in a fixture that is both functional and highly versatile. The LED light source is diffused through a circular translucent shade, seamlessly integrated into a streamlined metal shell.

This comes in a matte lacquer finish, available in neutral tones such as white, black, light grey and beige, or in bolder colour options such as muted green, terracotta and blue. Thanks to its understated form, Skan is well-suited to individual use, grouped compositions or cluster arrangements of three or five units, adapting almost effortlessly to the lighting needs of each space.

The quintessential pendant light typology is, without doubt, the chandelier. With Wireflow, designer Arik Levy reinterprets this archetypal form through a striking exercise in geometric abstraction. His designs trace three-dimensional volumes in space using black electrical cables and steel rods, from which LED diffusers are suspended (available with 4, 6 or 8 terminals depending on the model).

These compositions echo the classical piece, creating optical illusions of remarkable visual lightness despite their generous scale. Like sculptures floating in mid-air, Wireflow’s formal purity makes it a versatile piece for all kinds of interiors, thanks to its wide variety of formats.

The compositional freedom and formal diversity of these lighting collections is further enhanced by Vibia’s latest installation and connection systems, which expand the potential for customisation in every model. An invitation to set creativity free in interior design, shaping unique spaces where light becomes a truly expressive and emotional element.
