With a maximum performance using the minimum of material Wireflow is a light fitting featuring a system of sleek black electrical cables and Led light terminals that reinterprets and reinvents the classic chandelier lamp through its four iterations: Lineal, Volumetric, Chandelier and Free-form.

Ark Levy shares his thoughts on the creative compositions of this collection of light fittings,

…a place, “the Cave of the Crystals or the Naica cave of Chihuahua, Mexico,” recalls the designer, that connects the selenite crystals that traverse the caves with the light fitting. The fitting features electrical cables that trace three-dimensional geometries producing unexpected visual rhythms that despite their large size appear to defy gravity and look see-through similar to the sensation within the caves.

…a feeling, “compassion”, from the Latin cumpassio, semantically linked and the translation of the Greek word συμπάθεια (sympathy). Like compassion which manifests itself through contact with and understanding the suffering of others, Wireflow empathises and connects with all spaces.

…an image, “that which can only be seen with the eyes closed,” explains Levy, emphasising how the creative capacity is enhanced by closing your eyes and giving free reign to the imagination. It is within this ‘imaginary’ world where the playful compositional possibilities take on greater freedom and depth, and which the designer has been able to convey in the real world with this collection.

…an “emotional” material , that transcends its tangible materiality and generates sensations in the way that light can. An intangible concept but one that has an enormous impact on the wellbeing of the people in the way they experience the space.

… a culture, “Ikebana”, the Japanese art of flower arranging that is also a form of meditation. Like these creations, where the branches, leaves, grass, fruits, seeds and flowers entwine to represent a connection with nature and cultivate relaxation and wellbeing, Wireflow combines fluidity and tension in order to ‘connect’ through light.

…an animal, “the firefly” known as the light worm thanks to its luminescence that is transmitted in the dark. Just like each type of firefly has a unique lighting pattern the various versions of the collection also play with different intensities and lighting compositions to recreate an equally different range of lighting accents and diffuse effects.

…a work of art, “Spiegle im Spiegel, by Arvo Part, listened to with the eyes closed,” explains the designer. The unlimited potential of the musical piece which in German means both ‘mirror in the mirror’ as much as ‘mirrors in the mirror’, where the tonal triads are repeated ad infinitum to produce an infinity of reflective images, transposed into a light fitting of sculptural character with innovative tools for an infinite exploration.

…a colour, “a chromatic transition” points out Levy in reference to the capacity of Wireflow to create changing atmospheres through an ambient or focused light, that can be warm or cold…

…a sound, “the Om”, mantra or vibration that is traditionally chanted at the beginning or the end of yoga sessions establishing a deep connection with the interior id and the universe, which is here expressed in the forms which the collection can take and how they harmonise and compliment the qualities of any given space.
