Home / The Edit Projects Vibia’s outdoor collection complements the organic architecture of a quintessentially Mediterranean family home Rooted in the land and the sea, this coastal residence expresses the essence of Mediterranean architectural tradition. Designed by Cristina Soler from Barcelona-based studio, Arquemo, House in S’Agaró responds faithfully to Le Corbusier’s definition of architecture as “ “the wise, correct and magnificent interplay of volumes under light.”Façade planes rendered a crisp white with lime or stone-clad to integrate with the natural surroundings; organic structures of different heights with rounded corners; wooden doors with balanced frames bringing weight and warmth to the whole. The idea that guided the design of House in S’Agaró was to represent the constructive and compositional expertise of generations of local architects. Beyond the house itself, Soler pays particular attention to the garden environment, taking advantage of the luxury of Mediterranean sunlight and enhancing the exterior with a unique selection of Vibia outdoor lamps. By day or night, these lamps bring character and charm to the exterior spaces. Soler opts for luminaires with an obvious natural inspiration, seeking to integrate them within the vegetation. A Bamboo floor lamp welcomes us at the entrance in a clay pot; a second helps to bring a stone wall to life at night. Designed by Antoni Arola & Enric Rodríguez, Bamboo is characterised by a slender silhouette, a beacon of light seemingly ‘planted’ into a garden that blends in with the existing flora. Inspired by the forest blue bell flower, the Brisa is another design that easily integrates into the exterior environment. Designed by Lievore, Altherr and Molina, it provides a focused beam of intense, warm light, nestled discreetly among the aromatic plants in the porch flower bed. Camouflaged by day among the succulent plants of the entrance garden, a range of Meridiano floor lamps glow with a life of their own the moment night falls. Designed by Jordi Vilardell & Meritxell Vidal, Soler selects the Meridiano collection for its magical luminous effect, decorating the patio with intricate patterns and doubling up as an outdoor stool or side table.
