“All’inizio mi sono concentrata esclusivamente sulle soluzioni per l’applicazione di tessuti e tecniche tessili all’illuminazione. Si è resa necessaria un’intensa attività di ricerca.”

“Ho iniziato a sperimentare diversi tipi di maglie e tessuti, opachi e lucidi. Controllavo come filtravano la luce, se generavano ombre.”

Harde è stata attratta da una tecnologia chiamata technical knitting, diffusa soprattutto nell’abbigliamento sportivo, che permette di lavorare anche in tre dimensioni.

“Il fatto che si possano creare volumi tridimensionali era proprio quello che mi serviva per questo progetto, dove non si trattava di cucire insieme dei pezzi separati. Volevo far conoscere al pubblico questa tecnologia e scoprire che possibilità poteva offrire.”

Harde era alla ricerca di una consistenza complessa, capace di interagire con la luce. Ha deciso di lavorare con le coste, introducendo nel design una varietà di colori e densità.

“Meno denso è il tessuto, più luce trapela. La maggiore densità delle coste consente di dare più enfasi al colore. Un simile effetto può essere raggiunto solo grazie a questa specifica tecnologia.”

A quel punto la designer ha esplorato differenti forme a cui applicare la fodera in tessuto.

“Ho deciso di puntare su forme classiche o tradizionali, rivisitate in un look contemporaneo.”

La silhouette sinuosa di questa collezione, che spazia da maestose lampade a sospensione a piantane di grandi dimensioni, reimmagina il design tradizionale degli apparecchi attraverso l’artigianato contemporaneo e l’innovazione tecnologica. Scegliendo un filato neutro, Harde conferisce alla collezione la capacità di adattarsi a una varietà di interni e accompagnarsi facilmente a diversi stili di arredamento.
