Home / The Edit Insights My Pick: Design Professionals Select Their Favorite New Vibia Collections To mark the launch of Vibia’s new United States and Canada collections, collaboration with online retailers, we asked them to give their application proposals with their early access collections. Here, we share their picks—along with how they envision the lights being deployed and which of their company’s designs they would pair them with.Designed by Arik Levy, it’s characterized by crisp cubic volumes paired with slender metal rods that join and separate the volumes. Structural creates glowing sculptural silhouettes that Kevin Weitzner, director of technology and merchandising at TopModern, calls “artistic” and “statement-making” and he could see the fixture paired with Modloft’s Spruce Chalk Fabric Sectional Sofa. The Guise collection was selected for Lightology early access. The Stefan Diez collection is crafted of precision-cut crystal imbedded with a row of recessed LEDs, allowing the light source to remain invisible within the glass. Mark Thiel, marketing director at Lightology would place it in a kitchen, entryway, or office and can imagine it sharing lighting duties with the sleek I.Cono table lamp. “Because it’s both functional and has a great design aesthetic.”Rachel Kemp, director of merchandising for 2Modern, favors the Meridiano floor lamp. Designed by Jordi Vilardell and Meritxell Vidal, its open-slot steel shade casts an ambient LED light that radiates outward in sunburst pattern while doubling as a low seat or side table. Kemp would place Meridiano in a backyard or commercial space “because it’s both functional and has a great design aesthetic.” To accompany it, she would choose anything from the modern Swedish company Skygarden, known for its elegant outdoor furnishings. “Its warm accent lights facilitate conversation for small groups.”Meridiano floor lamp exclusively first appearance in Canada with Gabriel Ross. Alison Butlin, the director of marketing at Gabriel Ross, she finds its versatile indoor-outdoor application appealing “for outdoor gatherings,” she says. “Its warm accent lights facilitate conversation for small groups.” YDesign Group is excited to exclusively launch the Halo Jewel Pendants selected by Jennie Oh, Director of Merchandising at YDesign Group. Designed by Martín Azúa and inspired by a halo, it is expressed with minimalistic circle and line elements. Oh envisions the circular pendant would look beautiful over a Knoll Round Saarinen dining room table or in multiples over a large table in a conference room, while the vertical linear pendants could be designed to elevate both intimate and grand entryways with tall ceilings. The Halo wall lamp was selected by Lisa Li, director of merchandising for Moro. The fixture by Martín Azúa is distilled to its essence with a linear geometry and pared-down profile that seems to merge material and light. A living or dining area or den would be the perfect setting for the lamp, Li says, and she would combine it with Moro’s Mezzo Collection Bailey sideboard.
