Home / The Edit Lighting Solutions Personalize Residential Spaces With the Sticks Lighting Toolkit Designed by Arik Levy, Vibia’s new Sticks collection offers a creative toolkit for integrating light into residential spaces. The toolkit features three namesake sticks, each of which rotates on its own axis, allowing light to be directed precisely where needed. The minimalist aluminum rods come in three sizes—59″, 78 3/4″, and 118″—and can be combined in any direction for a maximum length of 177 inches. Custom configurations include ceiling to ceiling, wall to wall, floor to wall, wall to ceiling, or from the ceiling into open space.Pure and graphic, the glowing poles produce and disrupt architectural planes, facilitating endless possibilities in an interior. Sticks is available in a choice of several predesigned layouts—which can be adjusted, if desired—as well as arrangements conceived entirely from scratch. The configuration capabilities provide a personalized solution for every space, creating and defining a residential area according to specific needs. To showcase its endless versatility, we present a variety of examples of residential areas featuring Sticks, revealing how it fuses technology, space, and architecture with light. In a loft-like living room, three rods create an open cube along the back wall, forming an inverse to the window opposite it. Its lean lines direct the eye outward, becoming a bridge between the interior and exterior. Set at a tilted angle, it adds an unexpected tension to the orderly, symmetrical space. A second arrangement of Sticks in the living room also occupies the back wall. Three rods resemble an abstract rectangle facing away from the window. The horizontal span accentuates the length and loftiness of the room, with a crisp silhouette that echoes the sofa below it. In the unadorned space, Sticks’ lean outline conjures a glowing picture frame. A pair of rods are the third Sticks design in the living room. One pole rises up vertically against the wall, while the second stick projects out into the interior, emphasizing the room’s height. It serves as a bookend to the sofa, punctuating the seating area with a minimalist gesture that transforms linear light into floating sculpture. A dining room features a trio of ceiling sticks co-mingling above the table. The minimalist poles overlap and intersect, a look that’s lean and elegant like a delicate necklace. The arrangement creates a clear focal point and serves as ethereal sculptural art. Another dining room configuration lends a more geometric look. A lean line travels across the wall then juts out into the interior above the table. Its precise path across the room emphasizes the breadth of the space and the span of the eating area, while its suspension in mid-air provides a softening counterpoint. A nook by a window is brightened by a trio of Stick pieces. Along one side of the table a single rod rises up from the floor, and, positioned at a sharp right angle, are two horizontal poles. Suspended low over the table, its shape has an enveloping effect, creating an intimate enclosure that helps delineate the small space. A bedroom features a two-piece fixture performing double duty as a bedside reading lamp and ambient overhead lighting. Its long top arm stretches across the room like an abstract art installation that complements the painting next to it. At the entrance to a room, a single Sticks rod stands sentry. Its form is distilled to its essence, a simple straight line with a graphic presence against the white palette. It casts a welcoming wash of light against the wall, conjuring a futuristic light saber. We invite you to personalize your next project with Sticks.
