Home / The Edit Insights Stories Behind: Vibia’s production team Known for award-winning lighting by international designers, Vibia relies heavily on its assembly team working behind the scenes to bring these products to life. Based at the brand factory near Barcelona, Vibia’s manufacturing group plays an integral role in crafting the designs to exacting standards. We spoke to several of these dedicated technicians for an inside glimpse of their experiences with the company.Assembler Edu Pares has been with Vibia for nearly two decades. What he values most about his role is traveling to trade shows where he helps to build booths and install the lamps. “The teamwork is great,” he says. “We all know what we have to do, each one doing the best we can. When the booth is ready I feel like it was a part of me.”An avid traveler and music aficionado, Pares’ favorite designs include Balance, the first lamp he assembled for the company, Ameba, and Duo. Over the years, Pares has learned new ways of collaborating with different teams to “define the best way to work on a product. It’s very, very positive.” Describing his time at Vibia, which has transformed into an international company, Pares says, “I saw where we were and where we are now, it makes it a part of me and makes me very happy.” Valentina Doinita Boboc has been a Vibia assembler for 13 years. She came to the company looking to learn about a new field and calls her time with the company “an adventure…discovering something different from what I’ve done before.” Now a “master” focusing on product development, Boboc views her Vibia experience as one of “creativity, self-knowledge, and personal growth through challenging goals.”Among her favorite fixtures are Guise, which she worked on, Musa, Wireflow, and Algorithm. Assembler Carlos “Carlitos” Modesto has spent more than 30 years at Vibia. Over the years, he has held many roles: assembler, receptionist, and working in packaging. “I’ve been through different stages in the company.” His greatest satisfaction is the managing the varied challenges he faces on a daily basis—“you never work on the same problem”—and seeing the finished product that he helped create. He also marvels at Vibia’s evolution. “To see where we started and then to see where we are now, with the new headquarters, it makes me feel very satisfied because I feel a part of it.”Modesto, an avid football fan, picks the Pin lamp as his favorite Vibia fixture: “I’ve worked on it since the very first day. It’s like my own child.” Also ranking high for him are Palo Alto and Suite. Share on Facebook Twitter Linkedin Pinterest Pinterest You may also like...
